Trina Turk Sateen Rose Print Skirt

I found this Trina Turk rose print skirt on sale, but it was one size larger than I usually wear and literally fell off my body. I loved the colors, though, and couldn't resist a challenge. My fabulous tailor nipped in the waist and took a little volume out of the side, and now it's perfect.

I packed it for a trip and styled it two different ways. I bought the warm burgundy Cambridge cable cardigan below specifically to wear with the skirt, and it's almost a bit too perfectly matched. I tried to tone down the schoolgirl effect by styling the outfit with black tights, black knee-high pointy-toe stiletto boots, and a plunging black v-neck tee. I also tried it with the gray J.Crew Maya cardigan and added on yellow patent heels for a pop of unexpected color--again, a bit risky, but I think/hope I pulled it off.
